JOB DESCRIPTION:

Translate in-game text, voice scripts, game manuals for interactive video games

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Excellent native-level skills in both source and target language(s)
• High level of linguistic creativity
• Computer-literate - specifically MS Office suite
• Excellent written, oral & interpersonal communication skills in Japanese or English
• Excellent multi-tasking, time-management & problem-solving skills, as well
• Excellent teamwork

RECOMMENDED:

• Previous experience in translation of video games, anime, manga or literature
• Knowledge of Japanese & target-language pop culture

PAY:

Negotiable

NB:

All successful applicants may be required to work on-site in Japan or London for periods of up to 6 months. Travel and accommodation in this instance will be handled by Square Enix.

CREATIVE WRITING:

All applicants must submit a 800-1,000 word creative writing in the target language along with their CV and covering letter. This must describe an episode based on a character from a past Square Enix game who has been mysteriously transported to Japan.
