What classes do I have to take in order to make games for you guys?
We suggest that if you are interested in a career in the video gaming industry that you first focus on acquiring a college education. Having a college degree will not only give you an advantage over other potential employees, it will also help build a strong foundation of your work habits and skills.
Depending on the type of field you are interested in, the video game industry might just be the place for you. We offer positions of employment for a variety of skills and interests including business, art, music and programming. We highly recommend that you speak with a college career guidance counselor that can provide you with information regarding the types of classes associated with your field of interest.
There are several video game development colleges throughout the United States such as the DigiPen Institute of Technology (www.digipen.edu), and the FullSail school of Art and Media production (www.fullsail.com). However, a degree or certificate from a specialty or vocational school is not required.
Many of our employees have earned a degree from other sources of higher education. We do not have a preference as to which college or school a potential employee went to, since much of our job selection is based on education, previous experience and work performance.

I've got a great idea for a new game! Can you make it for me?
We always receive many interesting and creative game ideas from our fans. Unfortunately, we, and many other game companies, cannot use any game ideas that are received from the general public due to legal complications that can arise. That is why we have several complete development teams in Japan whose sole purpose is to create and produce video games.
Can I beta test your games from my home?
Our fans willingness and devotion to test our games for long hours a day flatter us! Unfortunately, due to security and legal issues plus the fact that all our testing is done in-house, we cannot accept any home-based beta testers. If you have an interest to beta test our games and are in the area of one of our offices, please check for job listings on our Employment page for Quality Assurance opportunities.
Can I get permission to use your images, text, or music from your games for the website/novel/song I'm creating?
Although we are extremely appreciative of our fans' efforts to incorporate the story and/or characters of our popular games to a project, we regret to inform you that we will not be able to grant any requests. We receive numerous requests regarding copyright use; our policy is to decline any use of our copyrights. We currently are not granting permission to anyone except our own business partners.
For a descriptive explanation regarding the use of website materials and information pertaining to the Copyright Notice, Trademarks, Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability, follow this link to Terms of Use of the SQUARE ENIX website.

Will Final Fantasy IX or X be released for the PC format?
Square of Japan has not made any current plans to develop a PC port of Final Fantasy IX or X in the near future.
Yes, the PC version of Final Fantasy VIII is a direct port of the PlayStation version released in September of 1999. The game's story, characters, items, and Guardian Forces have all remained unchanged. The only exception is that Chocobo World, a mini-game that could be downloaded from the PlayStation version of Final Fantasy VIII and played on a Sony PocketStation (not available in the U.S.), is included as a separate application which can be run from the Windows desktop.
