This title is a full remake that combines DRAGON QUEST I and DRAGON QUEST II —which depict the world after DRAGON QUEST III—into one game.
Not only does it feature a new scenario, but it has also evolved in various ways, including new areas, new dungeons, new encounters and new formidable foes.
Additionally, gameplay elements like sigils and scrolls have been added, while battles have been significantly enhanced!

Led by a mysterious voice heard in a dream, the protagonist (you) arrives at Tantegel Castle.
The king advises you to investigate the legendary hero, Erdrick, and the guiding voice, sending you toward Erdrick's Hollow and the Shrine of Rain.
Listen to the stories of people you meet along the way as you explore the lands of Alefgard where the legend of Erdrick remains!
Make preparations before setting out on your adventure!
Receive useful items and gold coins from the king of Tantegel.
Use the money to buy items and equipment. Remember,
you must equip items to use them!
Depart Tantegel and head for Erdrick’s Hollow!
Use the shortcut button to register your favorite commands as shortcut keys.
It's super handy for instantly using recovery items you find in sparkling spots on the field!
Battle monsters in the overworld and dungeons!
In this game, you can check monsters’ statuses when selecting commands.
Choose your attacks while keeping an eye on your opponents!
Dungeons and caves are packed with treasure!
Dungeon exploration is dangerous,

Stand against the encroaching evil threat and set out on an adventure with companions who are the descendants of Erdrick!
News of the disturbance in Moonbrooke reaches Midenhall, shattering the long-standing peace.
As the prince of Midenhall, the protagonist (you) sets out on a journey to uncover the truth behind the disruption!
First, seek out companions who also share Erdrick's bloodline and head for Moonbrooke.
Speak with the King of Midenhall and begin your adventure!
Before setting off, receive words of encouragement and a necklace called the Princess's Pledge from your father, the king.
This necklace is said to hold special power,
so it will surely aid you on your adventure.
Explore every corner of the overworld!
In this game, you can now choose in the settings whether to display the locations of hidden zones (secret spots) on the field,
as well as the positions of treasure chests in towns and dungeons on the map.
Take a breather in a town along the way!
When buying or selling items at shops, you have a chance to obtain “tombola tickets.”
Once you've collected some,
try your luck at the “tombola stalls” scattered around the world!
Upon arriving at Cannock Castle…
You've reached Cannock Castle,
but the Prince of Cannock is missing!?
Set out to find him with his sister, the Princess of Cannock!
Embark on an adventure with the Princess of Cannock!
While searching for the Prince, the Princess of Cannock joins you in battle!
You can't give her action commands at this point,
but she'll help the protagonist with various attacks and healing spells.
Where could the Prince of Cannock be…?
Despite searching everywhere based on clues,
the prince remains nowhere to be found...

Collect the living memories scattered across the ocean floor to unravel the history of Alefgard.
The Record-Keeper, who manages the faeries' memories,
asks you to gather the living memories inscribed with Alefgard's history.
It seems Hargon's minions scattered these living memories across the ocean floor.
Talk to those familiar with the sea,
like the merfolk, and search the ocean floor thoroughly!
While exploring the ocean floor and seabed, you can discover sparkling living memories!
Be warned, however, the seabed is also home to terrifying monsters,
so proceed with caution.
The living memories seem to contain records of events that occurred in this world and details about the hero who was the ancestor of the protagonists.
