It was previously announced on the "SQUARE ENIX ASIA NEWS PORTAL” and in press releases sent to various media outlets that pre-download would be available after pre-ordering the Steam/Epic Games Store versions of "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH". However, as pre-download was not implemented, the relevant statements have been corrected.​​​​​​​​​

​​The section that stated, “Customers who have pre-ordered the game will be able to download "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH" prior to the release date and play it immediately after approximately 23:00 on the day of release.” have been revised as it was not actually implemented.​​​​​
