Privacy Policy

Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) will administrate all personal information according to this Policy.

Compliance

The Company will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and this Policy with respect to the obtaining, utilizing, and handling of personal information.

Acquiring personal information

The Company will acquire personal information via appropriate methods, and utilize it only for the purposes set forth below; provided, however, that there may be cases in which the Company will separately announce or send notice of purposes of use other than those set forth below:

  • to provide customers with services (“Services”);
  • to provide customer support and Service-related notifications; and
  • to provide notification of information in relation to the Company’s products and Services.

Retention Period

The Company will set a retention period of personal information as needed for its purposes of use, and delete or discard all personal information via appropriate methods after the expiration of the period or after all purposes of use have been achieved.

Safety Control Measures

The Company will take all necessary and appropriate safety control measures when handling personal information in order to prevent dissemination, loss, or damage, while continuing with efforts to improve those measures.

Supervision of Employees and Trustees

  • The Company will appoint an administrator within each department to deal with personal information and to control and ensure the proper handling of all personal information.
  • Personal information will be handled solely by officers and employees of the Company who are authorized to access it, and who have been properly trained for the handling.
  • There may be cases within the scope necessary for the achievement of the purposes of use in which the Company entrusts the handling of personal information to a third party. In such cases, the Company will obligate the trustee under contracts, etc. to handle the personal information properly, and exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over the trustee to ensure security control of the entrusted personal information.

Disclosure to third parties

The Company will not, except in the following cases, disclose or provide personal information to a third party without obtaining the prior consent of the person:

  • Cases in which it is necessary for the Company to perform legal obligations imposed upon business entities, etc.;
  • Cases in which it is required by courts, prosecutors’ offices, police, bar associations, consumer affairs bureaus, or other institutions, entities, or individuals similar thereto;
  • Cases in which there is due course, such as for the protection of the life, body, property, honor, or credit of the person or other third parties;
  • Cases in which it is utilized in a way that does not lead to the identification of the person; and
  • Any other cases in which disclosure or provision is admitted under laws or regulations.

Inquiry concerning Personal Information

  • In principle, any person may request the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, cease of use, and elimination of their own personal information. In the event that personal information is found erroneous as a result of the requested disclosure and that its correction, addition, deletion, cease of use, or elimination is requested by the person, and only if the Company can confirm that the request is made by that person, the Company will, to a reasonable extent, respond to the issue as swiftly as possible.

Response to Divulgation

Should personal information be divulgated, the Company will promptly disclose all relevant facts regarding the issue.

Continued Undertaking

The Company will continuously make every effort to improve its handling of personal information through the establishment and review of internal regulations and implementation of training programs.
